what do Kleenex and LINKtivities have in common?

Kleenex and LINKtivities don’t have an obvious connection, so let me explain.

You see - when you have a runny nose or need to sneeze you have no doubt what you need, right?

You need a Kleenex.

When you need to wipe away a few tears…

You grab a Kleenex.

Kleenex has become so synonymous with the word “tissue” that no one looks at you funny when you ask for a Kleenex (a totally made up word) - they know exactly what you mean.

Kleenex is a household name and boxes of Kleenex can be found in homes all over the world.

You know what else is a made up word?  LINKtivity.

You know what else can be found in classrooms all over the world?  LINKtivities.

And we are on a mission to make LINKtivity a classroom name.  A name that is synonymous with engaging and interactive 21st century instruction.

That might feel like a bold statement, but that’s how passionate and motivated we are to make an impact with LINKtivities in classrooms all over the world.

We believe in them.  Teachers believe in them.  And students are impacted by them.

As we enter the fall of 2022, I am entering my 11th year in my work with The Classroom Nook - and my 17th year as an educator overall.

And just like anything, the work that we pour ourselves into in our career evolves and changes as the people that we serve change and evolve.

Teachers know that all too well.  We are used to pouring ourselves into our work with students, and we are certainly used to changing and evolving as the students in our classrooms change.

And in my 17th year as an educator, and specifically my 11th year of my work supporting teachers here in this online space, I have seen a fair amount of changes in the educational work.

Heck - when I started teaching, I was still using an overhead projector, for crying out loud.  Just thinking about how education has changed from a technology standpoint - my mind is blown.

The way that students learn and consume new information is different than even students from 10, or 15 years ago.

10 or 15 years ago, Google Classroom wasn’t a thing (or at least it was in its infancy), the role of multimedia was less significant than it is now, and so many other aspects of a 21st century classroom were just beginning to make their mark.

Well, here we are in 2022, and you might be reevaluating yourself, as well, on how to make the biggest impact with students of today.

And I’ve been asking myself the same question.

But I’ll tell you one thing…as I have poured myself into the work on LINKtivities and the LINKtivity Learning membership, I am beginning to see the impact that they are making in classroom.

I’ve heard from Teachers like Toni B. who says…

Or Amanda R….

And Anna F. pretty much sums up EXACTLY what our end-goal is for students:

Ok - can someone please pass me a Kleenex? (see what I did there?)  I mean…how nice is that feedback?

That right there is what it’s all about.  We want students to love EVERY second of each LINKtivity that they explore (and it’s clear that they do!).

Because we know that if we can get students engaged and interacting with their learning - we’ve got them hooked!  We can spark their love of learning!

And THAT’S why we’re on a mission to make LINKtivity as common as Kleenex.  When you want engaging…we want you to reach for the LINKtivity.

You know that struggling reader in your classroom that needs the extra support to be able to read the content?  We put audio support in each and everything LINKtivity so that they can still remain independent and learn alongside their peers.

You know that English language learner that benefits from visuals that support the text that they are reading or hearing?  We’ve been very intentional about making sure LINKtivities are rich in eye-catching graphics that compliment the other multimedia features in each LINKtivity.

When you want a resource that will support even your most reluctant learners and draw them into learning- we want you to grab a LINKtivity, because we have designed them to make a bigger impact.

If easy 21st century instruction is what you’re after…LINKtivity Learning has got your back!

This summer we have had a lot of conversation around this theme of making an impact.  Making an impact in student success, making an impact in a teacher’s confidence to deliver stellar 21st century instruction - ultimately, making an impact in classrooms around the world.  YOUR classroom.

And, LINKtivities were created out of a desire to provide students with an experience that truly ignites the love of learning and is powerful enough to meet the demands of the modern classroom.

We are using LINKtivities to help YOU make the impact that we long to see - to increase the love of learning.  But the thing is, it’s only going to make an impact if we can actually get more LINKtivities into the hands of teachers and students.

So we want to partner with you and help make a bigger impact.

This week we are kicking off our “Back to School” with LINKtivity event, and it’s all about impact.

And we have an incredible week lined up with all sorts of fun things including membership giveaways, going live on Instagram, and hearing from teachers who have experienced the impact that LINKtivities have had in their own classrooms.
