TeacherS: Want to thank yourself later?

Then do yourself a favor (or two) NOW.

Once the school year gets underway, teachers know just how challenging it can be to get ahead of the game. Many times it feels like we are surviving day-to-day.

But - it doesn’t have to be that way!

In fact, with a little thought, planning, and prepping, you could be doing yourself a HUGE favor that you’ll thank yourself later for. Putting in place a few classroom systems can reap huge benefits in the long run.

In this week’s episode I’m talking about simple things that you can prep NOW (before school starts) so that you’re not left scrambling later.

Ready to get ahead of the game?

Here’s a Snapshot:

  • Consider prepping a class set of birthday gifts. I’m sharing some simple suggestions of what you can prep NOW so you’re never left scrambling later.

  • Prepare a set of reminder notes or communication cards that you can easily staple inside an agenda or a take home folder to effortlessly communicate with families. I’ll cover what types of notes to have ready to go ahead of time as well as a simple hack for storing these cards to be ready at a moment’s notice!

  • Gather or create a set of fast-finisher activities that you can provide students who finish activities early. I’ll go over the types of activities that work perfect for this. Having these ready to go will eliminate off-task students and keep everyone engaged.

  • Organize your student data binder so that you always have a place keep important information about each student. Plus - you’ll never be caught off-guard when an admin or parent wants to know critical info about a student! I’ve got all the facts about what goes into a data binder and how to use it effectively!

  • Get your sub-tub or binder ready to go! Put your mind at easy that on those unexpected sick days you’re all ready for a substitute to step in and have exactly what they need to carry out a successful day in your classroom. I’ll share important essentials to put in your sub-tub so that you’re not frantic later.
