Welcome: Start Here

It's not me.  It's you.

No, really.  It's completely YOU.

You're the reason I'm here.  I'm here to give YOU what YOU need. (teaching-wise... don't ask for help on sky-diving best practices or we'll both be flat as a pancake)

Now let's talk about why YOU are here (check all that apply):

a)  you're looking for someone to tell you to "breath...you've got this teacher thaaaaaang..."
b)  you wish that there were simpler (and more fun!) ways to get your students excited about learning
c)  you're looking for that perfect activity, lesson, unit...fill in the blank... to w-o-w your kiddos (and even impress yourself)
d)  you've got so much time on your hands, that you need ANOTHER blog to read
e)  you've been secretly cyber-stalking me and want some juicy gossip about my personal life
f)  because the thought of common core and data collecting makes you feel all tingly and warm inside :)

GOOD NEWS, teacher friend.  If you said yes to any of the above,  you've come to the right place.

I'm Rachael Parlett and it's my goal to help you check off your (never ending) to do list, re-spark your teaching passion, and give you the tools and tips you need to walk into your classroom each morning feeling like the teaching SUPERSTAR that you are.

After teaching for several years in 3rd and 4th grade, I decided that what I reeeeeeeally love to do is to design knock-your-socks-off curriculum that teachers can use to save their valuable time and repurpose it for more important things like...staff meetings :)

just kidding.

No, but really.  That's what I do.  I spend my days with (a lot of) coffee, a computer, and a toddler - just to make things interesting.

I put in the time so that YOU don't have to.

Remember back in the day when you could spend hours in a teacher store stocking up on all things teacher (buy those cute sticky notes now, find a use for them later).

Well, those teacher stores are disappearing and are being replaced by the Target dollar bin.  Seriously, can ANY teacher/human being walk in to Target and not gravitate toward the dollar bin?

And when Target can't supply your teacher needs, there's this (semi-new) magical world of digital download where you can find novel units, center games, ready-to-go activities and MORE.

And it couldn't. be. easier.

Through my own digi-teacher store I give tired teachers just what they need, when they need it- Curriculum designed with the teacher in mind - killer curriculum that meets you where you are and gives you the confidence boost you want and deserve.

I aim to leave you walking away saying "BOOM. Let's do this!"

Because the bottom line is this:  teaching is hard and life is crazy.  When you need a little pick-me-up, you can come to The Classroom Nook, curl up, and relax.

We're in this together, you and me.

In case your lookin' to know more about my non-teacher life...

I live in New York with my hubby, Jacob, and daughter, Clara.  In addition to blogging and curriculum writing, I also teach fitness classes at the YMCA and LOVE it.  I've been known to stay in my work out clothes all day - no judgement, please.  I love my family, good wine, good coffee, and a good teacher meme on Facebook. :)

If you would have told me 5 years ago if I would be working from home FOR teachers instead of in the classroom AS a teacher, I wouldn't have believed you.  But, here I am.  Life is crazy, but crazy good.  Thanks for joining me for part of it!
